The food is really nice, their creamy mushroom rice is superrr delicious, beware for first timers their noodle dish portions is too big...u can share up to 2-3people...the only low point for me is the water, it seems to b small for the price for me hence 4*... price for the foods on other hand very reasonable...very recommended

The environment was nice, and the price was reasonable. The food portions were big and filling. It’s a good place for vegetarians.

Their decor is interesting. Don't actually have a word for it. I guess the closest would be ornate. I find their theme very busy. I guess this is one of those times when less is more. However I must say I really enjoyed the food here. The rojak is delicious. Complex taste, thick consistency and generous coating of the contents. Great aroma too. If you had eaten stinky tofu in Taiwan and have a craving for it, then I suggest you try the tofu here. The pungent smell is heavy but not overwhelming. The tofu comes freshly deep fried and has a crunchy surface. The accompanying pickled vegetable and the sauce combines perfectly with the tofu for a superb taste. Even if you haven't tried this before, I suggest you throw caution to the wind and try it. The pungent smell gives a whole new dimension to the tofu. Like it or hate it, it's a great dish to try The rice portion I had was sadly cold but the accompanying dish was tasty. Even though the sauce was a bit thick, when mixed with rice it distributed well and generally a good dish. The curry mee meanwhile smelled great. My nose woke up way before my tongue. The soup itself was well seasoned, flavourful and generous. In summary, great place to have vegetarian food even though the decor is overwhelming.

(Hot) = RM5.00 No Rice, No Noodles No Service Charge For Strict Vegans, you might want to take note that this place serves Eggs. Located directly Opposite a Majestic 北海斗母宫 Temple, this Restaurant has a Very Elaborate Ornate Look that Leans Very Heavily towards a more Religious Theme. Bathed in a Bright Yellow "佛光" Lighting. Kindda feels like I'm eating inside a Temple itself. Its Airconditioned and Cooling and there weren't much Customers around on a Wednesday Afternoon at around 3.30pm. One Thing I noticed is a Very Prominent Old Building Stale Smell. Its not Overly Unpleasant, more like a Old Building type of 臭臭 Smell. This Smell does have a Lesser Impact the longer I was here. The Young Chap manning the place is Very Soft Spoken and Polite. He is Friendly and Welcoming and and explains Very Honestly, Clearly and Patiently to my Enquiries about the Dishes in the Menu. B24 Ginger Tea 薑母茶 (Hot) = RM5.00 薑母茶 is something I enjoyed in the Past when I was in Taiwan last time. Think of it as a Very Robust and Somewhat Herbly Ginger Tea with a Very Earthy Sweetness. The Version here while not as Deep and Robust as the ones I had in Taiwan was still Acceptable. V01 Mixed Vege 罗汉斋 (Small) = RM8.50 The Version here consists of Broccoli, Cauliflower, Various Mushrooms, Carrots, Corn and Soft Beancurd Sheets all lum in a Mui Fan looking sort of Thick Zhup. Every Vegetable Piece had a Very Soft Bite Texture. Nothing in this Dish has any Crunchy Texture. This is a Very Soft Textured Dish which I feel would be Very Suitable for Elderly Folks. The Zhup is Thickened and has a Noticeably Salty Taste. It tastes Very Stereotypically Vegetarian. You know that Distinct "Vegetarian Taste" that you get from tasting a Vegetarian Dish? This Version of 罗汉斋 has that Classic Taste. T01 Fu Shou Taufu 福寿豆腐 (Small) = RM8.50 Oh I LOVE the Gravy Zhup they use in this one! Unlike their 罗汉斋, the Zhup here is Very Much More Savoury with a more Appetizing Oyster Sauce Taste. Heck I feel this tastes so nice, it would not be out of place if served in a Non-Vegan Zi Char Restoran. Thick and Rich, its not Overly Salty and the Amount of Gravy Zhup is Perfect to 下饭. The Main Block of Taufu has a Firmish Skin although not the Crispy Type but is just Soft Enough to be Enjoyable to Eat. Every Bite is Very Flavourful. The Bits of Long Bean and Carrots not only gives Additional Colour to the Dish, they also provide an Extra Crunchy Bite to help combat Flavour Fatigue. S18 Vege Glutinous Rice Chicken 糯米鸡 = RM6.00 This is One of their Most Popular Dish and is also my First Time trying a Veg Lor Mai Kai because I'm interested to see how they would approach this. There was a Very Nice Appetizing Saltish Dark Sauce Smell. The Glutinous Rice has a Nice Soft Texture, Noticeably Softer than the Regular type of Lor Mai Kai. I liked that there is a Big Fat Piece of Mushroom within that adds to the Savouriness. Topped with Vegetarian Mock Meat but you can't really taste it because the Superb Dark Sauce takes over the Entire Taste Profile. This LMK does taste quite nice that I reckon even Non-Vegan may like this too. Delicious. Conclusion and Closing Thoughts At a Total Combined Price of RM28.00 (S$8.40), I feel this is worth to give it a try. I especially enjoyed their Lor Mai Kai and it surprised me by how close it actually taste to a Regular Meat-Based Lor Mai Kai. That said, this place does lean Very Heavily towards a More Religious Theme so you do need to take note of this if it is ok for you. That Initial Old Building 臭臭 Smell can be also be a Tad Distracting and if you are someone who is Very Sensitive to Stale Smells, this place might not be for you. Pretty Well Made Dishes. I can recommend to give this place a try if you are able to accept the above issues that I mentioned. Thanks for Reading. A popular vegetarian restaurant. From 5pm to 9pm, one plate full costs only RM5. Daily except on the 1st and 15th in the Chinese calendar. Take as much as you wish but no second helping. No takeways too. Drinks not included. Clean and well-ventilated dining area.
